Rhonda F. Allen was appointed interim Clerk of Courts on August 3, 2021.
Rhonda started with the Clerk of Courts on December 26, 2010 as the receptionist. After holding that position for a year she moved into the Billing Department and learned all she could about that position. Rhonda also became a Court Clerk. She learned how to record the sentencings in various courtrooms with various judges, establishing great relationships and becoming familiar with the functions of the courtroom.
Soon another position opened up for a Bail Deputy. Rhonda transitioned to the Bail Deputy slot where she stayed for five years. When the former supervisor retired and the position became available for Team Lead, Rhonda was chosen to fill that position.
As Team Lead, Rhonda supervised 10 employees and coordinated the court schedule making sure the courtrooms were staffed with clerks. Sometime this was difficult to do as some personnel would be out for various reasons so Rhonda would often go to court, either for training a new clerk or for filling in to make sure the courtroom was staffed. During this time Rhonda attended Harrisburg Area Community College where she earned an Associates Degree in Human Services.
In 2019, when the Chief Deputy of 32 years retired, Rhonda was chosen to step in and fill the position. It was both scary and exciting to step up and do the job of Chief Deputy. Rhonda has been in that position for three years and has now been appointed to hold the interim position for Clerk of Courts as the previous Clerk has moved on to a new position within the county.
She resides in Mountville with her husband Charles a retired Veteran who served two tours in Afghanistan and several other deployments. They have three children, twin girls LatoiMcGinnis-Storr and TierraMcGinnis and a boy Xavier Allen and six grandchildren.
